My Help Comes from the Lord

A brief overview of psalm 121

Chapter 1

My Help Comes from the Lord

Matthew 2

Hello, friends—and welcome to today's episode of "Eternal Words. am Matthew." It's always a privilege to share this time with you as we explore the depths of God's Word together.

Matthew 2

You know, as I reflect on life’s challenges, I’m constantly reminded of where our strength really comes from. It's not from the things we see or even the people we rely on the most. No, our help comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. Psalm 121 verses 1 and 2 KJV Version says "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Matthew 2

This simple yet profound truth is both comforting and empowering, isn’t it? I mean, how incredible is it that the same God who formed the universe watches over us so intimately—that He cares about the details of our lives, the big moments, and the small ones?

Matthew 2

So today, we’re diving into this idea, this assurance, that God is our ultimate help and keeper. Together, we'll reflect on the unchanging faithfulness of our Lord and what that means for us, especially when we face storms that seem, well, overwhelming.

Matthew 2

Alright, let’s start by centering our hearts, just for a moment. Wherever you are listening—whether it’s on your commute or in a quiet corner—take a deep breath and let’s, let’s embrace what God has in store for us today.

Chapter 2

Kept by God

Matthew 2

Now, as we continue to meditate on this beautiful psalm, Psalm 121, verses 6 through 8 reveal something so profound about who God is to us. Let me read it for you—it says, "The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

Matthew 2

Isn't that just, well, extraordinary? The assurance that God’s watchful eyes are on us, not just in fleeting moments, but always. The imagery here is stunning. It’s like, no matter where we find ourselves—whether we’re under the blazing sun or in the quiet of the night—His care surrounds us. Day and night, every step, He’s there. on the other hand, the understanding that God is with us everywhere means he sees all the things we do both Good and Bad that should keep us on our toes as we enjoy his protection.

Matthew 2

And you know, what deeply encourages me in these verses is the phrase "The Lord will keep you from all harm." Now, that doesn’t mean life will be free of difficulties—but, rather, we are preserved within His purpose. God’s protection isn’t about shielding us from reality; it’s about preserving our faith, our hope, and our eternal security in Him, even when things feel uncertain or overwhelming.

Matthew 2

Think about it this way: every time you step out of your home, every choice you make, every journey you take—His presence goes with you. He watches over our "coming and going," as the psalm says. That’s not just poetic language; it’s a promise. A promise that God is woven into the rhythms of our lives, keeping us within His grace and guiding us each step of the way.

Matthew 2

So whether you’re carrying a heavy burden today or feeling unsure about what’s next, remember that God is your keeper. He doesn’t falter; He doesn’t turn away. We can rest in His unfailing care, knowing that His protection is eternal—it’s "now and forevermore."

Matthew 2

on that note, that's all we have for today. Thank you for spending this time with me, reflecting on the unshakable faithfulness of our Lord. Until next time, may you walk in His peace and live with the confidence that He is your help and your keeper in Jesus name. Amen. Take care, and God bless you.
